# Gonkbot

Gonkbot is a remote MCP server (Model Context Protocol) for golfers. Log rounds
by talking to ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, or Poke while you play. Gonkbot stores
the structured scorecard, computes trends and unofficial WHS handicap math, and
powers a post-round coaching review.

## How it works

1. **Log as you play** — tell your assistant what happened, a couple of holes at a time.
2. **Finish the round** — Gonkbot computes scorecard, fairways, greens, putts, scrambling, and a handicap posting summary when rating and slope are on file.
3. **Get coached** — your assistant pulls the round, your trends, and your player profile.

There is no app to install and no signup form. Connecting an assistant and signing in creates the account.

## FAQ

### How do I connect ChatGPT or Claude?

Open gonkbot.com and use the Connect section. Claude has a one-tap link that prefills Gonkbot at https://gonkbot.com/mcp. In ChatGPT, turn on Developer mode under Settings → Security and login, create a plugin at chatgpt.com/plugins, paste https://gonkbot.com/mcp, and sign in.

### Is there a signup form?

No. There is no separate signup. Connecting an assistant and signing in with Google or email creates your Gonkbot account.

### Does Gonkbot post scores to GHIN?

No. Gonkbot does not post to GHIN. Handicap figures are unofficial. After you finish a round you get a posting summary to enter yourself in your official handicap app.

### Can I log holes while I play?

Yes. Narrate a couple of holes at a time to ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, or Poke. Gonkbot is a remote Model Context Protocol (MCP) server that stores the structured scorecard mid-round.
